Meet The Team
Fiona Drysdale
Practice Partner BVMS MRCVS Having grown up in Glasgow and studied at University of Glasgow's Veterinary School, Fiona worked in mixed practice in Loughborough and Windsor before coming to South Wales over 20 years ago. Since then, Fiona has focussed solely on small animal practice, particularly enjoying getting to know clients and their pets alike and being able to provide a friendly personal service, which she believes is so important. Fiona counts herself lucky that she has met friends and colleagues who share these values and are able to demonstrate this through the work in Stone Court Vets. Fiona has 3 boys and enjoys running with the family and participating in local events and races or exploring the local hills and valleys with our dog Kip.
Jane Goddard
Practice Partner BVSc MRCVS After qualifying from Bristol veterinary school, Jane started her veterinary career in Monmouth in 1998. Working in mixed practice for 4 years, Jane enjoyed everything from cow caesarians to poorly felines. Following this, Jane took the decision to concentrate her interests in small animals and moved to a practice in Cardiff to fulfil this. Having always aspired to have her own practice, when the chance arose to achieve this Jane jumped at the opportunity. From there, the idea of Stone Court vets grew and developed. When Jane is not busy at the practice, she enjoys running and also walking Monty, her doted upon Labrador.
Jess Ellis
Practice Partner Bsc DVM GPcertSAS MRCVS Jess grew up in rural Mid Wales. A vet's daughter, she finally followed in her father footsteps and took the opportunity to study overseas as a second degree. After graduating in she started work in a mixed animal practice in West Wales. Initially showing an interest in equine work, she later turned her attention to small animals, her passion being surgery. She gained her Small Animal Surgery Certificate in 2015 and was Director of a practice for 5 years. She's been working in the Cardiff area for around 10 years where she met and formed a strong relationship with Fiona and Jane. She feels fortunate to see their plans come together in Stone Court Vets. Outside of work, Jess enjoys beekeeping, house renovation and various sports including running and sailing. She's sailed across a few oceans and hopes to get the chance to sail a few more! She lives with two pets, a Siamese cat called Rubiks and her partner, Chris
Sophie Furlong
Practice Nurse RVN Sophie is our qualified nurse, who we have enjoyed working with for a number of years previously. We welcome her to our team. Its seems theres not much Soph can't do, we are still trying to find her achilles heel! Out of work she passes her time riding her horses and spending time with Fagin, her labrador.
Practice Nurse Camera Shy! Ness has been doing this job for longer than any of us - she has so much experience and knowledge we are lucky to have her on our team. A self declared computer phobe she is happiest out the back looking after the patients. When not in work she enjoys running and looking after her whippets!
Deborah Thomas
Receptionist Deborah joins us with a wealth of experience handling all things front of house - and behind. Outside of work she enjoys time travelling.
